Preamble
This
contract will be for 1548 hours. The contractor will be expected to work at
least 40 hours a week during the peek business months. The remaining hours will
be distributed through the rest of the contracted period. The anticipated term
of the contract is July 13, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
Our
client is seeking a contract Information Technology professional who will
provide functional and technical services to support the security of
their infrastructure.
Experience
Contractor must have the following minimum experience:

Windows 2000/2003/2008 servers |
 |
ESX/VMWare |
 |
Windows 2000 and XP Professional |
 |
Apache and Microsoft IIS web servers |
 |
Microsoft Outlook/Exchange email configurations |
 |
Active Directory fundamentals |
 |
Tru64Unix and Linux servers |
 |
Cisco and F5 networking equipment (firewalls, routers, switches, etc) |
 |
DMZ setup/configuration |
 |
The PCI Data Security Standard |
 |
Networking TCP/IP |
 |
Building and configuring Internet host/network services including but not
limited to: http, SSL, sendmail, DNS,
Oracle databases, and Java |
Scope of Work Summary
The
contractor will train and/or assist client technical staff in:
 |
Defining the security framework for existing and new systems. |
 |
System security planning. This includes the development and implementation of
infrastructure security policies and
standards across multiple platforms. |
 |
Developing and implementing proactive monitoring of existing systems and
supply the client with security assessment. |
 |
Monitoring, analyze and respond to security events. |
 |
Analyzing the SOS applications and infrastructure for PCI compliance. |
 |
Analyzing and implementing security change requests. |
 |
Supporting the application WAN infrastructure with emphasis on security. |
 |
Monitoring
the department and report findings. |
 |
Reviewing on an ongoing basis the client network infrastructure with focus on
improving the security of the enterprise. |
 |
Creating a lab environment for testing new releases and bug resolution as
applicable to the client's WAN and LAN. |
 |
Reviewing the routing between the client and their data center with the
emphasis on security. |
The
contractor will also be responsible to:

Actively engage in network knowledge transfer with IT staff. |
 |
Instruct system administrators in advanced security practices for routers,
switches, servers, and desktop
computers. |
 |
Evaluate the client's current use of network management tools.
 |
Provide recommendations for utilization of the tool. |
 |
Provide training on the use of the tool to IT data center network staff. |

Review and prepare the client network for special nightly processing. The emphasis
is on security, problem detection and
remediation.
 |
In concert with the off-shift support team, plan and execute the network
test plan the nightly processing. |
