Position Title Infrastructure Design and Security Contractor
Closing Date July 5, 2009

Preamble

This contract will be for 1548 hours. The contractor will be expected to work at least 40 hours a week during the peek business months. The remaining hours will be distributed through the rest of the contracted period. The anticipated term of the contract is July 13, 2009 through June 30, 2010.

Our client is seeking a contract Information Technology professional who will provide functional and technical services to support the security of their infrastructure.

Experience

Contractor must have the following minimum experience:

bullet

Windows 2000/2003/2008 servers

bullet

ESX/VMWare

bullet

Windows 2000 and XP Professional

bullet

Apache and Microsoft IIS web servers

bullet

Microsoft Outlook/Exchange email configurations

bullet

Active Directory fundamentals

bullet

Tru64Unix and Linux servers

bullet

Cisco and F5 networking equipment (firewalls, routers, switches, etc)

bullet

DMZ setup/configuration

bullet

The PCI Data Security Standard

bullet

Networking TCP/IP

bullet

Building and configuring Internet host/network services including but not limited to: http, SSL, sendmail, DNS, Oracle databases, and Java

Scope of Work Summary

The contractor will train and/or assist client technical staff in:

bullet

Defining the security framework for existing and new systems.

bullet

System security planning. This includes the development and implementation of infrastructure security policies and standards across multiple platforms.

bullet

Developing and implementing proactive monitoring of existing systems and supply the client with security assessment.

bullet

Monitoring, analyze and respond to security events.

bullet

Analyzing the SOS applications and infrastructure for PCI compliance.

bullet

Analyzing and implementing security change requests.

bullet

Supporting the application WAN infrastructure with emphasis on security.

bullet

Monitoring the department and report findings.

bullet

Reviewing on an ongoing basis the client network infrastructure with focus on improving the security of the enterprise.

bullet

Creating a lab environment for testing new releases and bug resolution as applicable to the client's WAN and LAN.

bullet

Reviewing the routing between the client and their data center with the emphasis on security.

 

The contractor will also be responsible to:

bullet

Actively engage in network knowledge transfer with IT staff.

bullet

Instruct system administrators in advanced security practices for routers, switches, servers, and desktop computers.

bullet

Evaluate the client's current use of network management tools.
bullet

Provide recommendations for utilization of the tool.

bullet

Provide training on the use of the tool to IT data center network staff.

bullet

Review and prepare the client network for special nightly processing. The emphasis is on security, problem detection and remediation.
bullet

In concert with the off-shift support team, plan and execute the network test plan the nightly processing.

Detailed security assessment

bullet

Hardening specifications for entire infrastructure

bullet

Network and systems management tool installation and configuration

bullet

Assessment of routers and network utilization

bullet

Network device OS upgrade and standardization

bullet

Network design review

bullet

Weekly status report
